Wire – Rowan Rose-Morgan

Students will enjoy a fun-filled week while learning the techniques and skills necessary to make their own wire wrapped jewelry. All that will be necessary to become a good wire artist after the class is over will be practice, practice, practice. Students will be making bracelets, pendants, rings, earrings, and other project as time allows using mostly square half-hard wire. Tools kits will be available for use in class for those who do not have tools.
Lab Fee: $30 which includes the cost of copper practice wire, tape and handouts.
Estimated Materials Cost: US$100-$200 depending upon materials and supplies purchased and the cost of the metals at the time of the class.
Rowan has been a member of the Gem and Mineral Society of the Virginia Peninsula since the mid-1970s and is now a charter member. She has also been a member of the Kingsport Gem and Mineral Society, Kingsport, TN since 2007. She teaches one-on-one classes in the area. One of Rowan’s designs was published on the cover and was a featured artist in the September 2002 issue ofWire Artist Magazine. She was also featured in the December 2003/February 2004 issue. She does cabbing, creating many of her own stones to wrap. She has been teaching wirecraft since 1998.<br><br>
